7 Steps To Pack Your Bedroom For A Move
Over the years of packing bedrooms, we have put together 7 important steps for packing your things efficiently.

When it comes to packing your bedroom, there's a lot to consider, both large and small, which might cause problems if you're not prepared. Dressers, and mattresses are common examples of bulky furniture. You also have to deal with a lot of small things like wall decor, clothing, and bedding. Here are 7 important steps for packing your bedroom.

Clean your closet

Start by cleaning out your closet and wardrobe of any clothing, shoes, or hats that no longer fit or that you don't wear. You can donate these products to a charity, sell them at a garage sale, or donate them to a non-profit organization. Not only will you have less to pack, but you will also have less to unpack and organize at your new location.

Packing Clothes

You can pack your clothes in a variety of ways, depending on how you are moving your stuff and how you want them to look when you arrive at your new house. Remove all clothing from hooks and pack it into boxes or suitcases, or leave it on the hangers and transfer it that way. The method will ultimately be determined by the amount of space you have and how you wish to move the items about in the space you have.

Packing Linens

Consider washing all of your bedding linens before you pack them. This way, you'll have one less thing to worry about when you get to your new home, and your linens will be in the finest possible condition during the moving process. Once clean, bedding linens can be rolled up or folded securely to keep them neatly stored. Alternatively, you can utilize them as space-fillers when packing bulkier items in the future. So leave a set of linens and pillowcases available until your last day in your old home in case you need to sleep anywhere the night before you move.

Packing Jewelry

When you're moving, keep your jewelry in a safe box and then store it in the valuables box that will go with you. If you're going to carry a precious box, it should be compact enough to fit in your bag. If you're relocating, don't put anything of value in the van. Almost all moving companies will not transport valuables if they are not adequately insured.

Packing a Mattress

With a mattress, you want to avoid ripping or staining it during the relocation by packing it tightly and securely. When moving your mattress, use a Mattress Bag to protect it from dirt, dust, and moisture. It is available in twin, full, queen and king sizes as well as pillow top versions. Move it around with ease by sliding the bag over your mattress.

Packing Furniture

Dresser drawers should be emptied and transported separately if possible. Make sure that the drawers are taped around so that they don't shift and fall out of the container or moving vehicle. Also, take sure to evenly distribute the weight of these heavy goods in your chosen moving vessel.

Packing Mirrors

Mirrors should be packed in special cartons from your moving company or a moving/box store. Check that the box can support the mirror's weight; if it can't, contact your mover about having the mirror crated.
