Basic Tips for Packing Bedding and Linens for a Relocation

One of the simplest aspects of the work is packing bedding and linens. They're light, flexible, and indestructible. There are still some packaging tips to follow, so that nothing gets damaged while moving. These suggestions would also make your first night in your new location much more comfortable.

Last thing to pack is your bedding and linens

For a variety of reasons, it's best to put off packing your bedding and linens until the last minute. One, you'll need to keep using a lot of them, particularly your bedding, until moving day. Two, these things may be used to cushion other boxes. Any extra bedding, blankets, or pillows you don't use on a regular basis can be used to cover delicate objects and fill in empty spaces in boxes to keep them from moving.

Plastic bags may be used to protect linens

Cover your linens in plastic garbage bags before storing them in boxes to shield them from dirt and moisture. You might put them in garbage bags and skip the boxes, but the boxes provide an additional layer of security. Since bags are easily torn, taking the extra step of packing them in both will ensure that your linens are well protected.

You may also use space bags to conserve space and secure these things by vacuuming all of the air out of the bags and linens, making them flat and much easier to pack.

Fold them with care

While it may be tempting to save time by tossing linens into a box, particularly because they aren't breakable, you won't be making the most of the room. Instead, fold each object as flat as possible so that you have the most room in each box and don't waste as many as you can.

Set aside some linens for the first night

For the first night in your new home, remember to set aside some clean bedding, pillows, and towels. Make sure the box is clearly labeled so you know it should be set aside and that you can locate it easily. It would be so good to crawl into a fresh bed with clean linens after a long, exhausting day of moving.

All should be labeled and inventoried

In addition to identifying and inventorying the first night box, make sure to mark and inventory every other box so you know where to look for something you may like. You never know if you'll need additional towels or bedding on your first night. You won't have to rummage through boxes to find what you need; instead, search your list and locate the appropriate package.
